She earned her Master’s degree in Counseling in 2023 from Palo Alto University and her Bachelor’s degree in Literature in 1985 from Ritsumeikan University in Japan.
Maho lived 1/3 of her life in Japan, 1/3 in Mexico and 1/3 in San Diego, CA. Maho is a multicultural trilingual therapist who loves all types of people. Maho is curious and ready to meet people from different cultures and different backgrounds and learn each other and grow each other.
Clinical Experience
Maho has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couple and family, and treated substance use disorder, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, early symptoms of psychosis. Maho utilizes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to provide psychoeducation to reduce symptoms, elevate self-esteem and use skills to live better.
For her free time, she enjoys walking, Zumba, yoga and body combat. Maho’s life policy is “never retire”.
