Gina Cabral, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Clinical Supervisor
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT104556) focused on enhancing the quality of life for families and individuals through collaborative and compassionate counseling. I love working with children, families, and individuals, guiding them through challenging times. I believe that providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals will help them to gain insight to help promote the positive change in life that they are seeking.
Clinical Experience
I specialize in domestic violence, sexually abused children, at-risk youth, young children (ages 1-3), children and adults dealing with trauma, parenting challenges, self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression, and ADHD specifically in adults.
I’ve successfully helped children suffering from an array of challenges such as behavior and emotion regulation, adjustment and transitional challenges, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), stress management, life transitions, and relationship issues. I teach coping skills assisting in the management of transitions and everyday life stressors. I partner with parents/caregivers to help decrease challenging behaviors in children and help to provide new strategies for them to use on their own.
Additionally, I have extensive experience with military families. Not only have I worked with this population, both my father and my husband retired after long careers in the service. In total I have experienced 10 deployments, two of them as a mother with my daughter. I've gained great appreciation and insight for this population from my experiences as a child, spouse, and parent. This has given me rare first-hand understanding of the unique challenges military families face.
I provide a supportive environment allowing people to productively face some of the greatest challenges they may face in life. With compassion and understanding, I will work with you to help you build on your strengths and relationships in your life. I have a collaborative approach and believe in adapting treatment plans for each individual and family through their thoughts and insights regarding what they think would best suit their lives and circumstances.
